My Deauville failed its MOT yesterday, with the tester not liking my twinkling white bullets. I do have the Podmod fitted.

The official failure was "Front positioning lamp flickers when tapped lightly by hand (1.1.3c)"

Apparently, if I tape them up so he can't see them, he'll pass them on the retest!!??!!

Have you heard of any other similar failures?

Richard

Fluke

Hi Richard

Sorry to hear this. The lights have a very slight constant flicker.

A look at the MOT codes and he is using and I can confirm - 1.1.3c. Front position lamp flickers when tapped lightly by hand.

We can confirm tapping the light does not make it flicker, so the above is incorrect. The 'tapping' test is to find bad connections... there are no bad connections.

We have sold 1000s of PodMods over the years and never heard of any issue.

I think he's just failing it as he's not seen a Bullet light with PodMod before. It doesn't fall into any legislation within the MOT.

Maybe just tape them for retest then remove tape afterwards. I don't think it's worth arguing as then you are basically telling him his job which he will not like at all
