hi all

my bike is a honda varadero xl125 ..yes i know its only a baby but i love it ..anyway i have recently ordered some new mirrors with built in led indicators and i wanted to know if i need to change my flasher relay or add another just for the mirrors

im using standard filament bulbs on the rest of the lights so im wondering if i should just buy a single led relay and fit it just for the led's
ill be wiring the new led indicators to the existing indicator plugs

any help would be great

thanks

Hi and welcome

Nice bikes the xl125, look almost the same as there big brother, so loads of road presence. :)

No need to buy a relay. The problem with many indicator circuits is once you completely change to LED the power consumed by the indicators becomes so low it causes the electromechanical mechanism within the flasher to flash too fast.

As you are adding the LEDs to the existing filament indicators the power consumption is not dropping (and only rising slightly) so you can literally just splice into the existing flasher circuit without any other changes.

Kind Regards
