Red bullets & Tail/brake Convertor

I've wired in the convertor as per the diagram to the rear light,  (Honda NT650-V4)  and plugged in the red bullets but nothing.  :( Rear light works but not leds.  Leds light if connected direct to battery.  Checking the convertor, there is a connection between the black/white wire and rear light, stoplight and earth cables.  There is no connection between black wire and anything else.
I want the lights to work as additional rear lights but to go brighter when braking.  Can you help, please.

Problem sorted ;D .  Some previous owner has got the rear light feed and earth the wrong way round >:( .  Connecting bullets and tail/brake convertor with allowance for this has worked OK. :)

Glad you all running... you can never tell what the last guy did, and though it doesn't matter on a filament bulb, the fault comes out when connecting an LED as it only functions on one polarity.
