Title: Resolved: Connecting the brake light converter to the red led's
Post by: FatblokeXJR on June 11, 2011, 12:35:54 PM
Hi All

Just got a set of white, red and brake light converter to fit to my XJR 1300.

I am currently installing the rear red led's with the tail brake converter.

I have the black, red and yellow feed cables connected but from the installation diagram, I am unsure how the black and black/white output cables connect to the rear red led's.
I checked the voltage on the outputs from the converter  and they give approx 11v and 2v.How are they connected to the red led's cables?
Are they both connected to the +ve feeds into the led's and the other led cable is put to ground or are they simply black to black and black/white to black/white? – i.e. does the converter supply the earth as well as the +ve?

Cheers

Dave

Hi All

Got a very quick respnse to my email from Dan.

It turns out that the output cables from the converter go directly to the led cables as it supplies both the earth and +ve.

Should be black to black and black/white to black/white.

The led's do not need to be earthed seperately.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave

Sorry I didn't spot your forum post before you had to email... glad you all sorted though. I will get the instructions a little clearer.

Cheers
