Title: Suzuki Intruder VS1400
Post by: Fluke on March 28, 2013, 08:00:28 AM
Paul sent this guide and photos of this BikeVis Cree v3 Running Light install on his Intruder VS1400.. many thanks.

I have recently bought two LED Cree v3 front lights and mounted them on my Suzuki Intruder VS 1400.

I bought two mounting brackets (from the yachting world where they are used to construct bimini's) and mounted the lights on my highway pads bracket. This way I could mount them further from the center of the bike thus avoiding large shadow patches crated by the forks.
Because of the low amperage I opted to connect the lights in a way that the switch on the handlebar only switches to ground.
This way I only had to guide one wire through the handlebar which was easily accomplished.
The wiring now goes from the battery + through a 5Amp fuse to both the LED's and then through the handlebar to the switch and to ground (the same handlebar).

Because of the bad weather here in Holland I have had no chance to ride with the lights in the dark but switching them on at night near my house certainly gives the desired effect.
