This new version 2 unit has over double the capacity so it can modulate more / different types of lights.

Nothing stands out more than a light that ‘Glints’, this effect is usually only seen when the perspective of a light source changes, but if a light is coming towards you or stationary this effect is lost.

Our PodMod v2 module modulates LEDs extremely fast to address the problem (92.5% on and 7.5% off time) , and doesn’t create a ‘flash’ that could distract others on the road, but creates a gentle ‘glinting’ effect.

SMiDSY Headlight Modulator

This is the new, no frills, low cost, SMiDSY Headlight Modulator. It is tiny (19mm diameter x 32mm long), very easy to install, only 3 wires and can be used on either High or Low beam. Maximum load is 70 Watts. (One headlight bulb).

The modulator automatically controls the depth of modulation between 5% & 70% depending on ambient light level. On a very bright day, the unit will operate at 70% depth (Maximum effect). On a dull day, or as daylight begins to fall towards dusk, modulation depth will gradually reduce to 5%, then, in accordance with US DOT regulations, modulation will cease at dusk.

SMiDSY Brake Light Flasher

Upon applying the brakes, the brake light will flash rapidly for 2 seconds and then go on solid. Re-applying the brakes within 8 seconds of release and the brake light will go on solid. This is to avoid distracting the driver behind in stop / go traffic.

This unit is designed for normal halogen bulb brake lights… If you have LED for your rear brake please use our BikeVis LED Brake Modulator.

Installation is easy if you have basic electrical knowledge, don’t worry if you don’t though, just buy a mate a beer or two and get him to do it for you! Full installation instructions are supplied along with all parts needed and is usually fitted in around 30 minutes.

SMiDSY Automatic Hazard Flasher

Many car drivers when braking apply their hazard lights, us Motorcyclists can’t do this…. until now.

Upon applying the brakes suddenly over approx 20mph and around -0.6G your motorcycles turn signals will flash for 5 seconds at around 120 flashes per minute.

This unit handles everything for you so you can concentrate on the road, unlike the car driver behind who is busy playing with his CD player. Full installation instructions are supplied along with all parts needed and is usually fitted in around 30 minutes.

BikeVis LED Brake Light Modulator

In normal use the modulator holds your brake light LEDs at 33%, this can add to the rear visibility of your motorcycle in normal use depending on your bikes light set-up.

When you apply the brake the modulator turns on your brake lights for half a second then flashes the brake light 10 times a second for 1.5 seconds, finally then lighting them constantly.

The effect this has is to ensure cars travelling behind see you’re braking, which is often a cause of accidents. (I myself have once been ‘pushed’ into oncoming traffic at a junction)

If you re-apply your brake within 5 seconds your Brake Lights work as normal to avoid annoying other road users in heavy traffic.

Though there are many of these units on the market most are sold for use on both normal filament bulbs and LEDs, and because of this design they do not take advantage of the LEDs used on modern motorcycles (extremely fast switching rates possible)

Compatibility

This unit is only for motorcycles with LED brake lights and your bike must have a separate brake light wire to turn on the modulator. If you are unsure please contact us.
