BikeVis HID Xenon Conversions
£29.95
BikeVis Motorcycle HID / Xenon conversion kits are in our opinion the single greatest modification to any bike, be it for looks or increased safety!.
Description
Giving over 300% more light than your stock filament bulb, the difference is striking and the mind blowing performance in either day or night is jaw dropping, so much so we here at BikeVis run them on all our bikes and would not ride without them.
HID / Xenon kits are a replacement bulb and control box (called a ballast) for your main headlight and started quite recently in the high end car market. These bulbs produce light with an electric arc rather than a glowing filament.
Buying a HID / Xenon upgrade for your Motorcycle has always been a headache, with so many types and makes, all of varying quality. We have sourced the very best digital slim line ballasts and paired them with class leading quality bulbs to take all the hard work out of the job.
Many retailers use cheap analogue ballasts and give an array of different colour light options that are far from ideal. We provide a single colour, the best in our opinion, providing the optimum light performance in day and night, while getting your bike noticed. Cheap kits also suffer from poor life, bad focusing, low brightness and the ballasts are to big to fit on your bike.
Key Features
- Slim line E4 certified digital ballasts for optimum performance.
- Ultra bright 6000k light output (with a subtle hint of blue for extra night vision).

- Adhesive sticky pad for easy mounting of ballast.
- CANBUS Compatible.
- Bulbs have UV cut to prevent damage to plastic lenses.
- Perfect focusing.
- Extremely long life. (10 times that of a normal bulb).
- 1 Year Warranty.
Advice
It is recommended you only upgrade your low beam bulb as there is a small switch on delay as the ‘arc’ starts up. We do however supply a kit to cater for those with a single dual (low / high) H4 bulb.
Options & Notes
We can supply bulbs in H1, H3, H7, H9, H11, HB3, HB4, HB5 and BiXenon H4.
We do not recommend dual HID light set-ups due to switch on surges.
Important: Due to differences in the ways motorcycle manufacturers fix bulbs into headlamp assemblies a little mechanical work may be needed for a perfect fit, it’s very rare however.
HID conversions are currently NOT road legal in the UK.
About HID
What is HID Xenon?
High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon headlights are the new generation headlights that are fitted to most luxury cars and most new cars can have them fitted as an (expensive) option. They produce 300% more light than standard halogens and yet use less power. The HID Xenon (not Zenon) lighting technology is significantly different to the conventional halogen bulbs that use a heated tungsten filament. Unlike Halogen lamps, HID lamps don’t have a filament but create light as a result of an arc between two electrodes. The heat from the arc vaporises the metal halide which produces light as the temperature and pressure increases. The light produced by an HID Xenon lighting system is greater than a standard halogen bulb and with less power consumption. On the road, HID Xenon lighting systems appear as a bright white beam which resembles natural daylight. The bright white beam offers greater visibility and road safety.
In an HID Xenon lighting system, the voltage between the two electrodes rises firstly from 12V to 23000V and keeps stable at 85V by using the Xenon HID ballasts system.
What are the advantages of Xenon Light?
Three times brighter
The clear white light produced by the Xenon bulb is similar to daylight. Research has shown that this enables drivers to concentrate better. Furthermore, this particular light colour reflects the road markings and signs better than conventional lighting once you have driven with HID Xenon you will never want to go back to Halogen.
Extremely long life
The xenon bulb will last up to 10 times longer than a standard halogen bulb and even longer compared to the new whiter halogen bulbs. An average life is 2000 hours.
What is the difference between HID Xenon Conversion Kits and HID Xenon bulbs?
A HID kit will convert your halogen bulbs into real HID Xenon lighting. To do this you need power boxes (ballasts) to convert from 12 volt to 85-23000 volts. Many people sell upgraded halogen headlight bulbs as HID Xenon, but these are simply halogen bulbs that have a tiny bit of Xenon gas inside them. The light output of such bulbs is normally less than a good quality standard halogen bulb.
Can HID be retrofitted to non-projector style headlights?
Yes they can. The beam patterns created with our quality HID kits are identical to the halogen bulbs. Some poor quality kits have poor beam patterns and can cause a lot of glare. Our H4 BixXnon bulbs are also the best available and produce the a great beam patterns with no glare
